04/01/2016 - Places of Safety Domestic Abuse Services Project ref: 3923    Recommendations Approved

To strengthen the county refuge provision for those fleeing domestic abuse following the successful funding bid for £500,000 to the DCLG by the local authorities in Gloucestershire. The agreement will facilitate the use of the funding in financing Greensquare/GDASS to lease 12 two bedroom properties across Gloucestershire (two properties in each authority) for the purpose of providing emergency self-contained places of safety with support from Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service (GDASS).
The decision has no financial impact on Tewkesbury Borough Council as the funding awarded is additional to core budgets and held and administered from the Forest of Dean District Council.

31/10/2014 - Continuation of Shared Building Control Service ref: 3922    Recommendations Approved

The shared service has been operational for five years. In this time the shared service has exceeded the targets set out in the original business case. Both Cheltenham Borough and Tewkesbury Borough Councils have client officer and elected Member representation on the governance body for the service (Joint Monitoring and Liaison Group (JMLG)). JMLG has confirmed that it is satisfied with the performance of the group.
The maintenance of the shared service for a further five years gives the Building Control service further opportunity to develop and improve service provision.

Decision:

To continue with the existing shared Building Control Service operated by Cheltenham Borough Council for Cheltenham Borough Council and Tewkesbury Borough Council under the existing Local Government Act 1972 Section 101 Agreement.
