Decision details
Health and Wellbeing Grant Applications
Decision Maker: Chief Executive
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
Following the success of the Covid Response
Small Grants scheme, the Council launched a Community Health and
Wellbeing Small Grant Scheme in March 2023.
The Community Funding Officer, along with the Head of Community and
Economic Development, have weekly assessed these applications. If
they are happy the application meets the grant criteria, they were
sent on for approval to the Director of Community Services, along
with the Lead Member for Community and the Deputy Leader of the
Conservatives.
Following the outcome of the local election, a new arrangement
needs to be put in place.
•To put a new arrangement in place following the
election
•To ensure the relevant lead member is appropriately
involved
•To provide a quick transition - one of the advantages is the
speed by which
decisions are made
Decision:
For the Lead Member for Housing, Health and
Wellbeing to approve the Health and Wellbeing Grant applications,
in conjunction with the Director of Communities.
Alternative options considered:
Other members could be involved, but including
the lead member for health and wellbeing is the most appropriate
way forward, as it sits within their portfolio.
