Purpose:

The Public Services Centre is now fully occupied with tenants and Tewkesbury Borough Council staff. As part of tenancy agreements, parking has been provided at the Lower Lode Lane depot site. Demand has increased and a decision has been taken to demolish two of the three buildings, retaining one building for file storage.

The chosen company provided best value for money and Tewkesbury Borough Council has had prior experience of working with this contractor on a previous demolition.

Decision:

Decision made to appoint a company for the demolition of two buildings at the Lower Lode Lane depot site.

Alternative options considered:

Option 1 - Retain site ‘as is’ - deemed not appropriate as car parking currently operates in excess of full capacity.

Option 2 - Retain one building - deemed not appropriate as would not offer the required car parking capacity.
