Expansion of One Legal to Include Gloucester City Council
On 16 December 2014 Council resolved that,
subject to the approval of a business case (including the financial
case) by the Chief Executive in consultation with the Lead Member
for Corporate Governance: 1. Gloucester City Council’s legal
service function be joined to One Legal; 2.Gloucester City
Council’s legal service functions be delegated in accordance
with Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 and under Part 1A
Chapter 2 Section 9EA of the Local Government Act 2000;
3.Gloucester City Council’s staff be transferred under the
principles of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of
Employment) Regulations 2006 on 31 March 2015, or such other date
as agreed; and 4.authority be delegated to the Chief Executive, in
consultation with the Lead Member for Corporate Governance, to
enter into a Section 101 Agreement and other legal documentation
and to take all necessary steps to implement the above mentioned
resolutions. The decision to approve the business case will enable
work to proceed on the joining of Gloucester City Council's legal
service with One Legal as set out in the above mentioned Council
resolution.
